Berlin is…

Berlin is hard to define. In name, size and composition it’s a city like every other one out there. But in manner and method, Berlin jars with the type of big city experience that exists almost everywhere else. Oh it’s better, indeed it is. But often times it’s way worse. It’s the sort of place that you crave to leave but then miss after a day. A place that gets under your skin only to wind up triggering an infection. A town that’s more home than your mother’s plump arms yet can still turn round – out of nowhere – shoot you the stink eye, spit at your feet and treat you like a pee stain on a pair of nice white chinos. Jawohl, Berlin is hard to define. The following is an attempt. And there’s more to read from Mr. Conor Creighton.
