New wave of acts

Ellie Goulding, Boys Noize, Left Boy and more

When Tempelhof Airport opens its gates on 6th and 7th September, two days of debaucherous performances by national and international artists lie ahead of us. With a genre clash of pop, techno and indie, our Art Village, a poetry slam and spoken word, a mix of underground and mainstream, Berlin Festival brings together all the cultural facets of the German capital. However, until Berlin Festival takes off in September with such high-calibre acts a Blur, Björk, Pet Shop Boys, My Bloody Valentine, Fritz Kalkbrenner or MIA., we still have plenty of acts to announce:

With Ellie Goulding, one of the UK’s most shimmering popstars has been confirmed, performing songs off her two albums Lights and Halcyon. Boys Noize, who gathered his the Berlin Festival crowd in front of the stage twice already, becoming a BF resident, will be appearing at Club Xberg this year.

Austrian-raised and New York-based Left Boy, who brought us a true dancefloor smasher with his debut single "Black Dress", will perform at Tempelhof Airport as well as The Sounds, who will present us with exclusive material off their brand-new album. The Swedish duo, Röyksopp and The Prodigy’s Maxim, on the other hand, will get behind the DJ booth at Club Xberg.

Get Well Soon, S O H N, Charli XCX, Pool, Bosnian Rainbows, Parquet Courts, Ruen Brothers and Capital Cities are also confirmed to perform at Tempelhof Airport as well as Graf von Bothmer, who will perform a newly composed soundtrack for Walther Ruttmann’s legendary silent movie, Berlin: Symphony of a Metropolis, live on stage. Pantha du Prince, Miss Kittin (live) and Booka Shade (DJ-Set) have been added to the bill at Club THF.

Djedjotronic, Strip Steve, SCNTST and Audionite will take over Arena Club on Friday with a Boysnoize Records Special. On Saturday, the Berlin-based label Exploited sends Shir Khan, Round Table Knights, Claptone and Cocolores to Arena Club.

Unfortunately, AlunaGeorge had to cancel their performance at Berlin Festival due to unforseen reasons.

Now that Club Xberg and Club THF are taking shape, we want to introduce our day tickets. In case you’re all about clubbing at Arena Berlin or Hangar 2, you can do so for EUR 29. The Club Xberg or the Club THF day ticket is valid for either the 6th or the 7th.

All other ticket categories for Berlin Festival on 6th and 7th September at Tempelhof Airport and Arena Berlin are also available via www.berlinfestival.de/tickets.
