Line Up 2011

This London- and Berlin-based label doesn’t have anything in common with Greco-Roman culture except for its “sophisticated” approach to art. Greco-Roman was founded by Joe Hot Chip, Alex Full Nelson, and Dom Mentsh. The purpose of this operation: giving the underground sound of such artists as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Drums of Death its well-deserved platform. At Club Xberg, we are looking forward to the following artists representing the label:

Hailing from the new Bristol bass scene and very definitely one to watch, the youngster’s tropical blend of deep house and garage is best heard in his underground dubstep anthem ‘Close’ on Greco-Roman, or in his recent DJ mix for FACT magazine. Championed by Skream and Martyn, he has an album coming on PTN/Ramp (home of Falty DL, Zomby, Hot City) in October.

The mysterious North Londoner mixes up garage, skweee and juke for his wildly varied and forward-thinking EPs on Greco-Roman, and quickly caught the eye of Azari & III who asked him to remix their next single. Shy in front of the decks but fearless behind them…  expect fast mixing across a number of styles!

Full Nelson
As the head of the Greco-Roman collective of musicians, DJs and artists Alex ‘Full Nelson’ Waldron has signed records by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Drums of Death, Buraka Som Sistema & Joe Hot Chip, organised underground parties in Berlin, London, Sydney & Moscow and no slave to genres he has DJ’d everywhere from Glastonbury to Fabric to Bar 25.

… and together they play as Greco-Roman Soundsystem!
